Three Lees in a Pod plus the Little Sprout: First Road Trip!

On June 25, 2008, at 30 weeks gestation, we welcomed our three Lees in a pod to our family. Piper was born at 12:36 p.m. weighing 3 pounds 2 ounces, Henry followed at 12:37 p.m. weighing 3 pounds 15 ounces, and Rosemary showed up last at 12:37 p.m. weighing 1 pound 14 ounces. On August 2, 2008, Piper came home from the NICU at what would have been 35 weeks and 3 days of gestation weighing 4 pounds 15 ounces. On August 7, 2008, Henry followed and came home at what would have been 36 weeks and 1 day of gestation weighing 6 pounds. Finally, on August 16, 2008, at what would have been 37 weeks and 3 days gestation, Rosemary came home weighing 4 pounds 4 ounces. On August 10, 2010, at 39 weeks and 4 days gestation, we welcomed Penelope to our family. She was born at 12:35 p.m. weighing 7 pounds 14.8 ounces. On August 13, 2010, she and her mama came home from the hospital on the same day, with Penelope weighing in at 7 pounds 4 ounces.

First Road Trip!

The babies have now left the city of Birmingham once! Since RSV season is over, we packed up the babies, the cooler (of bottles), and the car and headed to north Alabama so that the babies could meet my grandmother, who can't travel to Birmingham to meet them. Here are some pictures of Grandma meeting and getting to hold her great grandbabies:

In the picture below, Grandma, me holding Henry, Papa holding Piper, Aunt Jack holding Rosemary, my brother Seth (back left), and my brother Zac (back right).

After we visited with Grandma, we went to Nana and Papa's house. While we were there, Papa (along with Gary and my brother, Seth) got to show the babies their first horses. Pretty soon, Papa is going to have the babies riding those horses!
