Huh? I wasn't asleep. Not me!

When it was time to eat the other day, this is what Gary found. . . . Enjoy the commentary -- a common theme in our videos seems to be that the commentary is as entertaining as the video itself!

How Big Are They Now?

The babies are really getting to be big! They were last weighed this past Friday, February 20, when they were 5 days shy of being 8 months old. Had they been born on time, they would be about 5.5 months old. Here are their weights from that day:

Piper: 15 pounds 3 ounces
Henry: 16 pounds 3 ounces
Rosemary: 13 pounds 1 ounce

That Papa is Funny!

Nana and Papa visited not long ago and spent a lot of time playing with the babies. We got a picture of all three babies with Nana and Papa on this visit.

(Disclaimer: Nana specifically told me not to post this picture, but as you can see I don't listen so well. Nana says I should have told her to fix her hair before I took the picture, but I think she looks just fine!)

As you can see in this video, the babies (especially Rosemary) really enjoyed playing with Papa. . . .

Happy Birthday, Papa!!

Our Dining Room Playroom

Here is what our dining room looked like first thing Saturday morning:

We have a house with an open floor plan. It is great for entertaining, and is also nice for when one of us is in the kitchen so that we can carry on a conversation with the other of us in the living room. It is not, however, great for keeping rolling babies all in one place. I can only imagine how bad it could be once they get more mobile. We knew something had to be done, but we didn't know where, or how. At first we discussed taking away Gary's "Man Room," which is upstairs over the garage. But -- it's upstairs. That is just inconvenient for us. I'd rather the babies be near the living room and kitchen.

We finally decided that we just had to turn the dining room into a playroom. Gary, as you can imagine, was more than pleased to keep his pool table and other man items in his room and did not put up much of a fight. I spent a lot of time researching and measuring and planning and buying things for Gary to put together and install (that is how it is supposed to work, right?). Then we spent ALL DAY on Saturday working on the playroom -- and by "we" I mostly mean Gary, though I am a great supervisor. Thankfully, Brooke had already put together the changing table and toy organizer earlier in the week, so that saved us lots of time and frustration. Here's how it came together (notice that Henry and Piper spent some time supervising Gary for me when I was busy with other things):

And here is the finished result!

The babies (and Gary) really enjoyed getting to use the playroom on Sunday!

Outside!

The other day the weather was so beautiful that Brooke (a/k/a The Super Nanny) and I decided to take the babies on their first trip outside (when not going to a doctor's appointment). We decided to just sit in the backyard for a little bit and see how the babies liked it.

Well, Rosemary was NOT a fan of the great outdoors. She fussed for most of the time, especially when we put her directly on the grass. Piper seemed a little indifferent. She kept looking up for the ceiling. But Henry LOVED being outside. He kept kicking his feet and rolling onto the grass. He even pulled up some grass and threw it on Piper!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

About a month ago, I was shopping and ran across some cute little Valentine's Day outfits for the babies. I spent a lot of time picking out just the right outfit. I got home and was so excited to show Gary what our babies were going to wear for Valentine's Day. Here's how that went:

Heather: Gary, look at the adorable outfits I bought the babies for Valentine's Day.

Gary: Those are nice.

Heather: No, really, look at them!

Gary: Okay.

[Gary suspiciously eyes the outfits.]

Gary: You got two of those, right?

Heather: Of course not! I got three!

Gary: Oh [censored], tell me you did not [censored] buy one of those for my son.

Heather: I most certainly did and he's going to wear it and I'm going to put on the blog what you just said!!

Now, you tell me, doesn't Gary's son look precious in his outfit?

For all of the above pictures, from left to right, Piper, Henry, Rosemary.

We hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day!!

Henry's Favorite Things

There are two things that Henry has discovered that he loves. One thing is to chew on his hands and use his jumperoo simulataneously. Isn't he talented?

The other thing that Henry has recently discovered that he loves is . . . well . . . you just have to see and hear it for yourself. . . .
