Snow Day!!

Today we had snow!!! Unfortunately, especially in our area of town, it never got too much below freezing, so we didn't have full snow coverage. Had it been below freezing, I can't imagine how much snow we would have had. Nothing compared to what folks in the Northeast are seeing now, but certainly a lot for this part of the country. Gary's office and my office both closed at noon due to likely bad travel conditions, so as soon as the babies got up from their naps, we bundled them up and went outside to play in the snow. The kids had a great time, and so did we.

Super cute pics! What kind of camera do you use? I just got a new one and I can't figure out how to make the object clear and the background not in focus.

Thanks, Lindsey. I know you probably get tired of this kind of weather, but down here we LOVE it!! :)

Samantha -- I have a Nikon D60. The best thing I ever did with that camera was sign up for a month-long one-night-a-week photography class. I didn't know how to use it properly and was just shooting in automatic, but that class taught me how to shoot in manual, which is when you can really start blurring out the background, in addition to other things. I am still very much learning about photography, but that class made all the difference in the world. I'm sure you have a similar local class that you can take. Worth every penny!!

What a fun, fun day!! The babies look like they are having a blast. Having grown up in a snow-for-5-months-a-year climate, Friday's snow is EXACTLY what I love. Just enough to have some fun with for a couple of hours, and then it melts. Another inch or two would have been nice, but seriously, this was just about perfect in my book. I LOVE the girls' hats - where did you find those (love the jackets too!) So much fun! Oh, and your pictures are fabulous!

Cathy -- the girls' hats are from Hanna Andersson -- which I learned about from you!!
